With restrictions changing so frequently in 2021, I kept in touch regularly with my couples to see where their heads were at, if they still wanted to try for their original date, did the venue have to change, would they want to postpone, etc.

The first time I reached out to Alex and Ian, they were very firm that August 1, 2020 was their date no matter what that would look like. We didn’t know it then, but their wedding date was just in the sweet spot where you could have a wedding with the least restrictions in 2020.

They started off the day with an emotional first look, the ceremony was outside witnessed by close friends and family, grasshoppers hitched a ride on Alex’s gown all day (luckily her wedding party were all up to the task of hand picking them off all the layers), hand sanitizer was the wedding favour, and so many laughs and good times were shared. I am so happy that Alex + Ian decided that a pandemic would not stop them from being husband and wife, and that love was not in fact cancelled this year.
